Friends in my small group worked on classifying and sorting objects first by one characteristic and then another.
Mrs. Beltz's small group worked on measuring. Each student had 3 pieces of string of different lengths. They first sorted them by size and then explored around the room to find an object that was equal in length to one of the strings.
Indoor gym time
While practicing writing together, this group noticed that the first 2 sentences both began with the letter M. Then they were challenged to make the rest of the sentences also begin with letter M.
Our "write with me" time is practicing making meaningful connections between a child's thoughts and watching it being written out in print. Students then take notice of any similarities in the words/letters being written. Here in this group, friends noticed several words that began with the letter b.
