Mrs. Romain's small group played "Swat the Sound". The students used fly swatters to swat the letter sound that they heard. This is an activity that makes literacy fun and interactive.
Recognizing and creating patterns (like ABAB or AABB) introduces the foundations of algebraic thinking.
Friends worked to visually recognize numbers and associate them with corresponding dice patterns as well as random dot patterns.
This activity supports the following:
building number recognition, strengthening one-to-one correspondence, subitizing skills, and developing visual discrimination.
