This morning we warmed up with 100 jumps, jumping and counting all the way to 100!
During small group time this week, friends have been exploring maps by following lines, looking at written numbers, and even making their own maps. This activity helps build important early learning skills. When children look at maps, they practice spatial thinking and begin to understand how symbols can represent real places.
Mrs. Beltz's small groups explored rocks and talked about identifying characteristics.
Ms. Stuz led a nature-themed BINGO game and friends used shapes as their markers. It was a fun way to practice recognizing and naming shapes.
Creating their own maps gives them a chance to plan, organize, and use their creativity while strengthening fine motor skills. Following lines or paths supports visual tracking, which is an important pre-reading skill, and encourages problem-solving and persistence.
This afternoon, we went for a nature walk and looked for signs of animals.
