Thursday, November 6th

Mr. Meyer led chapel today and reminded us that the Ten Commandments help us see our sins and recognize our need for a Savior.

Friends were very excited to make plans for a nature trail like the one we explored at Pecar Park.  They shared ideas about what materials they might use.
"We can use this brown cloth."

"We can stomp on these tubes to make them flat like the ground."

Here are just a few of the conversations that were flowing as friends shared their ideas for the trail:
"We need to make signs!"
"I know, we can use these for ticks."
"We need leaves."
"These green circles will work!"
These conversations are meaningful examples of collaborative learning in action. As children share ideas, negotiate plans, and build on one another’s thinking, they are developing key skills in language, social-emotional growth, problem-solving, and critical thinking.  This type of dialogue also supports emergent curriculum, allowing children’s interests and ideas to guide authentic, hands-on learning experiences.
