Friends in this small group listened to a short story about a boy picking tomatoes in a garden. After answering a few questions about the story, they made a journal page by drawing pictures to represent what they had heard. They also labeled their drawings and wrote about parts of the story. This type of activity promotes literacy, comprehension, and creativity.
Mrs. Romain's group listened to a story from the Story Friends series about going to the dentist. Students learned more about the vocabulary words grin and all.
My small group read a story about what it means to feel brave and how characters show bravery.
"We made a cabin. It has a back porch."
"Look at our campground! Sophia and I made it. The green is the grass."
