Friends are already picking up on our morning prayers! We start each day by saying The Apostles' Creed, singing the hymn of the month, and then reciting Luther's Morning Prayer.
Zippy came to help us this morning during Jesus time. We tried to create broccoli by only using our words.
One of our brain breaks was to (pretend) throw a ball six times. This type of physical movement is used to transition between activities and is helpful for increasing focus and engagement.
During small group time, we looked at our School Family Books. Students worked on several of the following: opening a book, turning one page at a time, matching pictures, matching names, sounding out names, pointing to individual words in a sentence, and writing names.
Please take some time at home to look at the book with your child.
During free choice time, friends are invited to play in all areas of the classroom.
Here, some friends were "playing school".
While it may look like "just play," children are actually learning deeply and meaningfully across all areas of development.
