Mr. Meyer, Director of Christian Education, led our first Early Childhood/Kindergarten chapel of the year.
He shared with us that our words are powerful, but not as powerful as God's. When God said "let there be light", there was light. We then tried to see how powerful our words could be. When we said, "broccoli", no broccoli appeared. We tried the same by saying "ice cream", as well as "lights" but nothing changed with our words.
Ms. Burdett led our first forestry class. This is a new class for us this year that is designed for children to specifically spend time outside exploring nature, playing with natural materials, and learning through hands-on experiences.
This afternoon, we began a new way to use one of the slides, climbing up!
Letting children climb up a slide (instead of only sliding down) can actually offer several developmental benefits—as long as it's done safely and in appropriate settings. Climbing up a slide engages upper and lower body muscles, helping build core strength, grip, and coordination. It can also foster creativity and imaginative play—pretending it's a mountain, lava escape, or obstacle course.
